Keep up with the C8 Health schedule for ANESTHESIOLOGY® 2026.

Improving adherence to evidence-based perioperative practices is a shared priority across the US health system, with initiatives supporting patient safety and responsible resource allocation. Progress often stalls, not from a lack of evidence, but from gaps in implementation. Performance metrics are available to hospital leadership and quality teams, but individual providers often lack timely visibility into their own performance and actionable guidance on how to comply, and leadership lacks tools to drive compliance at scale. In fact, more than 60% of quality interventions become unsustainable after six months.
The financial impact of this gap is substantial: hospital-acquired conditions such as surgical site infections (SSIs) cost on average $28,219 per incident, while each additional day of hospitalization adds approximately $3,000 in avoidable costs. Given these stakes, healthcare leadership is increasingly prioritizing adherence to quality standards, both to improve patient outcomes, and to reduce avoidable provider utilization and cost.
The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) and Henry Ford Health know these challenges well. Both organizations deployed C8 Health’s Quality Module and have seen statistically significant results over the past twelve months including significant reductions in SSIs. Drs. Chopra and Masel will cover how their anesthesia departments increased compliance across all of their quality metrics in less than six months, with gains continuing across the twelve month study.
